Frequently Asked Questions
Not all online training programs are created equally. However, based on student feedback, our online course is just as good as any in-person or hands-on training course you could attend. An in-person training course, with travel, food and lodging, costs upwards of $1,800. Since many students aren't able to take a week off work to attend an in-person course, or simply can't afford it, this online certification course is a great option.
Yes of course you may. This course is open to students worldwide. That said, we are not familiar with every rule, regulation and law in every country, region, state or city. It's up to you to determine if you will need additional training or certifications over and above what we provide through our course. Oftentimes, all you will need is to pay for a license to conduct business or apply for a permit to generate or haul biohazards. It is our experience that in most areas, our training course will provide you with all the training and resources you'll need.
Yes, if you chose to subscribe to our business support package, you may cancel it at any time. Just send us a message and we'll remove your billing information. Many students subscribe to the package for their first few months in business, just to have the added support. It's certainly not required for this training course or your business success.
The methods and procedures for remediating a crime or trauma scene is the same, regardless of the city, state or country you live in. Some city, states and countries may require you to obtain a license to practice as a crime scene cleanup technician. This licensing requirement generally requires you to complete a form and send in a small payment. Once you complete our training course, inquire with your local licensing division to see if any other requirements should be met.
Yes, you will receive immediate and full access to the entire course, even when paying monthly. However, you will not receive your certificates until such time that the course has been paid in full.
Course certificates are created on Monday of each week and sent in digital format to your account email address. Digital certificates can be sent to insurance companies, clients and others who may want to see your credentials. Digital certificates can also be displayed on your website and in your marketing materials. If you choose to pay for the course through monthly installments, your certificates will be emailed on the Monday after receipt of the last payment.
We are not able to monitor who watches the training videos or course materials. However, only one student/employee will receive a certificate of completion. That student should be the one who takes and passes each of the tests. If more than one employee needs a certificate of completion, he/she will need to pay for the course.
We don't require you to complete OSHA training; however, OSHA does mandate certain additional training courses should be completed. OSHA requires employers to provide bloodborne pathogen training to employees (including yourself) who may be exposed to blood or other potentially infectious materials (OPIM). This training is required annually, at the time of initial assignment, and when new tasks or procedures may increase exposure risk. Additional required training covers personal protective equipment (PPE), hazard communication and respiratory protection. All of these subject matters are covered in our OSHA training course, which is only $165. Again, we don't require you to complete this training to receive your certification but we do encourage you to complete the training at some point. Look for our OSHA Training Course on our courses page.
Through our OSHA Training Course, you'll be an OSHA 29 CFR Part 1910 compliant biohazard remediation technician. You'll also meet the requirements of Bloodborne Pathogens 29 CFR 1910.1030, Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) 29 CFR 1910.1200, Respiratory Protection 29 CFR 1910.134 & Personal Protective Equipment 29 CFR 1910.132.
Yes, our course is designed for both industry technicians and new business owners. You do not have to start your own business if you wish to simply work for another company.
